‘If one million Egyptians try to break the siege on Gaza, the genocide would end’~ Georges Ibrahim Abdallah

With a No-Fly Zone … fighter pilots will not be initiating hostilities, but establishing a dome of protection over civilians ~ilana

Enough!

The world has built up a head of steam over Israel. Yet at no time has anyone offered a military plan of action—even though genocide is criminalized by the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG), or the Genocide Convention; even though this international treaty “obligates state parties to pursue the enforcement of its prohibition.”

Israeli mass murder has been fenced off from any outside intervention by no other than the United States of America.” With American backing, Israel, you can say, has outwitted the world. Nominal ceasefires imposed on the “genocidal entity” have not stopped the carnage. Israel continues to murder Arabs and destroy their lands and leaders as the fancy takes them.

The maelstrom of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the country’s vertiginous expansion across the Levant to include a dirty war (of assassinations) in Iran, and the continued forbearance of the Global North—all these factors have only encouraged Israel to expand its evil endeavor and give voice to it. Emanations from the collective Israeli mind continue to flow as freely as an open sewer and are as septic. Unless stopped, Israel will continue to open up new fronts of evil.

Libertarians worth their salt will apply to the collective the same moral code applied to the individual. If a lone serial killer and home invader must not be left to continue on his merry spree of murder and theft; neither may a band of killers armed with WMD do the same. If a lone serial killer ought to be hunted down by good men and women, cuffed, incarcerated and tried; so too must a gang engaged in high-tech, AI-assisted mass murder. That is the simple meaning and application of the libertarian axiom of non-aggression in a world in which defense is not privately produced.

Curiously—and considering the centrality of a values-based pretense in U.S. foreign policy, of good-vs-evil—if ever a clear, moral case for American military intervention presented itself; it is on the side of the civilians of Gaza as against the Israelis, who are armed with Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).

This must lead to an inescapable conclusion:

Since the United States of America is not a “global force for good,” it remains for the locals to do the job. A large-scale regional military intervention must be mounted post haste, for there is an affirmative, not a passive, obligation to stop Israel. The world, with some heroic exceptions, has so far breached that legal and moral obligation.

Right now, the Arab people wish to act in support of their brethren butchered in Palestine and Lebanon. Conversely, their governments refuse, bought and paid for as they are by the US, whose foreign policy is centered on what Israel wants.

Even more extraordinary: Israel is funded by America, yet it does exactly what it likes and to hell with America. The two propositions don’t seem to be mutually exclusive. Like Israel, the Arab nations receive subventions from America. They should take a leaf from Israel’s book and quit cowering. Do what their people want them to do.

Contrary to the swindlers of the corporate western media; Turkish youth, for example, and its people at large, oppose the game of footsie Erdogan plays with Israel, while pretending to oppose it. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has extended his country’s military role in the Levant, realizing his neo-Ottoman impulses in Syria in ways harmful to what remains of the Axis of pro-Palestinian Resistance.

At the same time, Erdogan has limited himself to being merely “rhetorically strong” about Israel’s genocide, as Lebanese journalist Rania Khalek had observed. The people of Türkiye, by contrast, continue to protest vessels such as the US aircraft carrier USS Wasp, docking in Izmir, en route to assist Israel in dropping ordnance on impoverished, starving people, penned in a deathcamp. Risking the Empire’s wrath, Erdogan, on the other hand, had in fact previously hosted the beleaguered Hamas

In other words, so baffling is Türkiye’s subterfuge in the Middle East that nobody would be surprised if Erdogan, forever unpredictable, out-of-the-blue, scrambled fighter jets to establish a No-Fly Zone over Gaza and the West Bank, which are occupied, not Israeli, territory!

With a No-Fly Zone; Türkiye’s fighter pilots will not be initiating hostilities, but establishing a dome of protection over civilians, whose tiny enclaves in Gaza had been hit, so far, with the equivalent of six nuclear bombs, prompting Hiroshima, a civilized city of peacemakers, to beg Israel to cease its murder spree.

Prime Minster Erdogan would do well to heed his people. In the long run, this is wise for political longevity and stability.

Likewise is the Egyptian military fuming over their country’s leaders’ failure to help Gaza, and their inaction with respect to Israeli atrocities. From the Egyptian Ground Forces, which corrupt Egyptian leaders have historically feared, rose Gamal Abdel Nasser, a revered leader of Egyptian pan-Arabist nationalism.

Conscripts at the Sinai-Gaza border” have decried the Sisi government’s silence over the killing by the Israelis, their putative allies, of comrades-in-arms during Israel’s annexation of the Philadelphi corridor. These Egyptian military men are eager to act. Who other than the Axis of Genocide would object to Egypt reclaiming the Philadelphi Corridor, illegally annexed by Israel, and opening its side of the Rafah border to flood the zone to its north with aid trucks under heavy military escort?

Despite broad public anger over Israel’s crimes in Gaza, Jordan’s King Abdullah has helped Israel fend off Iran’s drone and missile reprisals. The Jordanian people protesting Israel feel betrayed, reports Deutsche Welle, a German broadcaster. “Jordanians are currently fuming, outraged, because of a  gourmet food festival” taking place this month, “while Gaza starves.”

Because of the Hashemite monarchy’s close ties to and assistance to Israel; revolution is simmering in Jordan, whose people are of Palestinian ancestry. In fact, “the Hashemite monarchy, which has ruled Jordan for its entire history, fears a Palestinian takeover of the country.” Abdullah, king of Jordan, would reduce chances of revolution in the Kingdom were he, at least, to stop assisting the Israelis. Scrambling the Royal Jordanian Air Force to enforce a No-Fly Zone over the occupied neighboring territories would vastly strengthen Abdullah’s position domestically given his restive people.

A meek adjunct though it may be, let the Spanish Armada set sail for Gaza’s seafront. Whatever naval assets can be mustered by other Palestine-supporting countries—Norway, Ireland and Belgium—ought to provide amphibious support to brave No-Fly Zone fighter pilots crisscrossing Gaza and the West Bank.

I bet dollars to doughnuts that the Axis of Genocide, challenged for the very first time, will be cowed. Bullies are cowards.

As that most American of crime writers, Raimond Chandler, counselled, “It never pays to let the enemy make all the rules.” And Israel is the enemy, the enemy of humanity.

Similar counsel comes from a recently released, elderly, pro-Palestinian resistance fighter, who spent four decades in a French prison. Described in the French press as a “Lebanese leftist militant imprisoned in France since 1984,” Georges Ibrahim Abdallah remains a masculine force at full tilt.

Abdallah arrived in Lebanon on July the 25th. A large gaggle of press and supporters eddied around him. He told them, “If one million Egyptians try to break the siege on Gaza, the genocide would end.”

Abdallah deferred to lionheart Greta Thunberg as an example of courage: The Swedish young woman had sailed forth in international waters intending to reach the riparian territory of the people of Gaza. For wishing to administer kindness—to slake the thirst and assuage the hunger of some Palestinians—and to galvanize on behalf of Gaza; Israeli terrorists kidnapped Freedom Flotilla activists and forced them into their own benighted country.

Piracy on the high seas. What should have been a safe, peaceful voyage was terminated by pirates, perpetrators of genocide. Does Israel now rule the high seas as well?

I might have misunderstood Mr. Abdallah, but by praising a wee girl for her bravery he seemed to be asking, where are the men?

Ilana Mercer, paleolibertarian author, essayist and theorist, has been writing up an anti-war, anti-woke storm since 1998, starting in Canada. On arriving in the US, in 2002, her weekly column was right away syndicated. Mercer’s national syndication fell through shortly after due to writing in strident opposition to the war in Iraq. ILANA is described as “a system-builder. Distilled, her modus operandi has been to methodically apply first principles to the day’s events.” She’s Jewish, grew up in Israel ages five to nineteen, and left, at 19, never to return. She had refused to serve in the IDF, Israel’s compulsory military. Ilana’s focus since October of 2023 has been the genocide. A war against civilians is a war on civilization

Based on observing The Empire’s workings over decades, I’d hazard that President Volodymyr Zelensky is probably being fiercely guarded by Americans, possibly by a private, paramilitary security company. Something like Sean McFate’s DynCorp outfit, or Russia’s Wagner Group. Or even perhaps Ukraine’s own Einsatzgruppen, the Azov regiment.

MORE in support of my assumption, for that is all it is, is a revelation of some of the plans his American puppet-masters’ have for Zelensky. Via NBC:

Biden administration officials have discussed plans with the Ukrainian government for President Volodymyr Zelensky to leave Kyiv in the event of a Russian invasion, according to two people familiar with the discussions. Under a plan that’s been discussed, Zelenskyy would relocate to Lviv in western Ukraine, about 50 miles from the Polish border, the people familiar with the discussions said.

My opinion—probably a solid guess—is bolstered by Zelensky’s relaxed, cocky showman’s demeanor, inflamed as it is by wildly enthusiastic Western reinforcement of the Ukrainian leader’s bloody bravado.

I say “bloody” because of the inverted values with which the Empire and its handmaidens in the West have blanketed the Russia-Ukraine conflict:

To normies, a leader who doesn’t plead for the lives of his people is a failed leader. Diplomacy, negotiations, a cease fire: that’s the nomenclature clear-thinking people ought to wish instinctively to hear when they see the immiseration of Ukrainians and their cities. To my knowledge, not before the war and not now has Zelensky initiated, or partaken in, or been urged to pursue serious, high-level talks with Putin.

And while there is some indication that Zelensky might be inching closer to acceding  “neutrality for Kyiv and security guarantees for Moscow,” publicly, Zelensky has done nothing but snarl his contempt for Russia, roaring at the Kremlin to “hold peace talks now or suffer for generations.” This is not diplomacy, but yet more political posturing and provocation. (But then Zelensky, an actor, could be prepping to appear before the central, universal seat of asininity: Hollywood’s Oscars.)

The Hebrew Testament (though “Old,” it’s never out-of-date) is bedecked with examples of leaders pleading, even bargaining, for the lives of the Stiff-Necked People. Abraham haggled ingeniously with The Almighty over Sodom and Gomorrah. Queen Esther petitioned mighty King Xerxes (Ahasuerus) on behalf of the Persian Jews, and Moses did the same for his enslaved people before Pharaoh. Another Hebrew has written that “he who saves you from war is better than he who sends you to war.” That’s what real leadership is about—uphold and fight for the people’s natural right to live peacefully.

By these reasonable and rational criteria, Zelensky and Biden are failed leaders for doing nothing but bait and goad the Russian Bear.

Make no mistake, if the American people (an inchoate meaningless phrase I countenance here for the sake of argument) were invaded as has Ukraine—American leaders would hold court from their safe rooms and underground luxury bunkers and give cheery addresses (in syntax as fractured and similarly studded with non sequiturs), while the bombs fell on We The People.

Churchillian they’d rate themselves.

To the American Jacobins and their Ukrainian Zelenskyite puppets, talking ‘our values‘ is all it takes to make a good leader. Talk the neocon talk.

That Zelensky did in his cameo appearance before the US Congress, where the man deftly drew on all the cliches of American life in the shallow end, banalities now made global:

Volodymyr Zelensky droned on about democracy, our values, and MLK (Martin Luther King), offering his incoherent, bizarre twist on the “I have a dream” ubiquity:

(In truth, democracy has “made us dumb,” for what menaces mass society is a tyranny of mediocrity. And values “in the classical conservative and libertarian traditions are private things, to be left to civil society—the individual, family and church—to practice and police.”)

Said Z: “I have a dream. I have a need. I need to protect our skies. I need your help, which means the same you feel when you hear the words I have a dream.”

Translated: When Zelensky tells you he needs your help, you should feel the same as when you hear MLK’s “I have a dream.” Or, something.

I have a dream. I have a need, too. Some quid pro quo, perhaps, Mr. Zelensky? In 2011, during the US-facilitated Egyptian Lotus Revolution, I reminded tea partiers, now termed Deplorables, of Alexis de Tocqueville’s admonition in the mid-1800s.

When he wrote that he knew “‘nothing so miserable as a democracy without liberty,’ he spoke for me. I find myself unable to get lathered-up about democracy for others, while I live in the democratic despotism that contemporary America has become. …”

…More often than not, Americans who yearn for the freedoms their forbears bequeathed to them are labeled demented, dangerous and undemocratic. I’ve yet to hear liberty deprived peoples the world over stand-up for the tea-party patriots [now called Deplorables]. When they do — I’ll gladly galvanize on their behalf.

Zelensky is America’s perfect, prototype Jacobin puppet, beloved by both political factions, because he is the creation of the foreign policy of the UniParty.

The Republican faction thereof has reverted to the neoconservative mean.

Republicans are pushing for war and that no-fly zone. They are admonishing Biden for his so-called weakness—for that is how they frame barely avoiding a nuclear war with Russia. The War Street Journal has only rebuke for Biden’s policy of “containment against Russia.” On Fox News, it’s rah-rah for war (i. e., variations on a no-fly zone over Ukraine) all day long. The female journos and “mute-button pundits,” especially, choose to use incendiary phrases, pregnant with provocation, such as “a red line”; “this was a red line for Obama… will Biden consider it a red line?” More recently, Bret Baier and guests on Fox New have been brain-storming about “the level of atrocity” to be tolerated before war can be comfortably commenced. Cavuto floats regime change in Russia as a prerequisite for negotiations.

Never good-faith negotiations.

Publicly available CIA reports offered no fresh incriminating evidence against Iraq, but a lot of innovative variations on the Bush Bafflegab. To wit: “Saddam will probably”; “Give him time and he will eventually”; “With sufficient weapons-grade fissile material, he’ll doubtless”; “He doesn’t have the capability to develop enriched uranium or plutonium to fuel a nuclear bomb, but hang in there…”

This is obviously not the letter of the text, but close enough to its spirit. How the CIA cobbles evidence for an “interest in acquiring” or “an effort to procure”—considering that these purchases never seem to materialize—isn’t clear. What proof do we have that they were even initiated? CIA language is manifestly intended to exempt the writer from having to substantiate much of the claims.

What a relief it was, then, when a real incriminating event finally occurred. A North Korean vessel was not allegedly—but actually—apprehended in the Arabian Sea, carrying 15 well-concealed Scud missiles. All in all, Baghdad Before Bush was suspected of hiding about 60 Scud-variant missiles. Here we had the equivalent of one-fourth of the entire Iraqi arsenal on one ship!

While Iraqi palm dates were subject to U.S.-enforced trade embargoes, it was comforting to know that North Korean Scud missiles were not. About the North Korean commitment to free trade, Donald Rumsfeld effused: They “continue to be the single largest proliferator of ballistic-missile technology on the face of the Earth, putting into the hands of many countries the technologies and capabilities which have the potential for killing hundreds of thousands of people.” Joy!

Nothing is more admirable, however, than a nation that uses its trading advantage with discretion: North Korea didn’t sell missiles to Iraq—it only sells them to “friendly nations” like Pakistan, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Libya, and Yemen, to which its latest shipment was headed.

Iraq, as the administration insisted, may have been jam-packed with Jihadists, but Yemen doesn’t exactly have to outsource for its Islamist assassins. Like America, it has plenty of homegrown homicidal talent. Recall the Yemeni port of Aden was the site of the attack on the destroyer USS Cole, which killed 17 sailors. Off the coast of Yemen, a bomb, not so long ago, damaged a French oil tanker, killing a sailor. British special forces even conducted searches for Osama bin Laden in Yemen, where al-Qaida was said to be regrouping.

The North Korean missile crisis must have left Saddam bitter about the favoritism that has allowed said nation such generous maneuverability on the axis of evil. (Although his initial frazzled reaction was probably: “Could this be something I ordered for the New Year celebrations and forgot about?”) North Korea has been welcomed out of the closet with its ongoing uranium enrichment program. And, evidently, the North Koreans are permitted to trade openly in deadly weapons, albeit with peaceniks like the Yemenites.

At the time, honorary axis member Iran, a gaily open supporter of terrorism, remained unhindered by threats of a U.S. invasion, as did the rogue states of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Libya, and Sudan. While the CIA was adamant it had no Iraqi smoking gun, evidence for these other nations’ hospitality to terrorism abounded.

As luck would have it, under the Bush Iraq Doctrine, evidence against a theory constitutes evidence for a theory. No smoking gun means there’s a hidden gun somewhere or a plan to acquire a gun, or a hidden plan to acquire a gun and hide it.

Whichever is the case, it was reason enough for an attack. Never mind that Saddam’s visibly antiquated and crumbling infrastructure was being crisscrossed and closely watched by weapons inspectors. And no matter that the U.S. was bombing him illegally—and immorally—over the unilaterally established No-Fly Zone.

More poignantly, Saddam was by then acutely aware of Washington’s not-so-secret Nuclear Posture Review. The NPR was crystal clear about this administration’s willingness to use lower-yield, precision nuclear weapons on Iraq if Saddam attacked the U.S. with nuclear, biological or chemical weapons. Washington clearly hasn’t been as dyslexic about the lessons of history as it would appear—at least implicitly, there was an acknowledgment that Cold War restraint is no folly.

Why then did this president behave as if Saladin the Second was scheming to do what the former Soviet Union didn’t dare do with its more than 10,000 strategic nuclear warheads; 30,000 nonstrategic nuclear warheads; 6,000-plus ready-to-go nuclear warheads mounted on more than 1,000 intercontinental ballistic missiles—not to mention thousands of submarine-launchable nuclear weapons and more than 1,000 nuclear bombs carried by long-range jet aircraft? (The tally is courtesy of the Independent Institute’s Robert Higgs.)

Could Saddam really have been hell-bent on doing what the many times more evil and powerful former Soviet Union avoided at all costs? Was Saddam suicidal? The facts suggested not. Given the administration’s re-embracing of the deterrence principle as articulated in the NPR, Bush’s lockjaw on Iraq didn’t make sense.

And neither was it meant to. It was meant to radically change the way we think. This was an exercise in “consciousness-raising,” befitting the permanent revolution one can expect from the ideologues in this administration.
